Submissions to the Journal of Second Language Education should be emailed to submissions@slejournal.org.

Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for review of the article by our board. If your article is accepted, you will be emailed a more detailed description and example model of the desired style and format of the final article.

All submissions must be written in English and be original and previously unpublished. When papers are submitted to the journal, they must not be currently under review for formal publication elsewhere. That being said, as the journal is primarily a vessel for working papers, it is permitted and encouraged that contributors to the Journal of Second Language Education seek to publish in more formal academic publications AFTER publication in our journal.

The scope of the journal is as broad as the field of second and foreign language education, and thus research from a wide variety of fields will be considered. The journal will consider research papers, in length from 3,000 to 8,000 words.

The journal will also consider forum articles from 2,000 to 5,000 words in length that examine theoretical aspects of second language education, or that review recent literature in a specialized area of thought with the aim of creating scope for future research in that area.
